A year later, it feels like yesterday

Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell.

Wow, hard to believe a year has gone by. R.I.P. Bob, you were a great guy and did fabulous work in New York City.

I've kept his emails in my Inbox all this time. When I go to file away any email, I see his name first as it appears alphabetically. Just haven't had the heart to move his folder...

I never met the man, yet I miss him, realizing his importance to the community.

It's funny, I've done the same with emails from Bob. I can't delete them and feel both happy and sad when I reread them.

I feel his absence most in Tompkins Square Park. It's just not the same without him there. I also miss the people he used to document. Bob really opened up a world to us, and when he left, that door closed.

I like the photo. I like how he looks so happy. On the frontlines. I have all his emails too. In a folder. Feel as if I need to do something with them. To share his thoughts on what was happening in the neighborhood.

Thanks G. This was one of my favorite moments. Bob and I met on Broadway & 12th as a rally went on in Union Square. As the crowd of protesters began marching towards us down Broadway, we waved to each other and he ran into the crowd. I ran ahead, turned around, and saw him marching along with them, camera in hand. His face was lit up - as you said, he was happy and in his element.
